Capture a todo

Start from the dedicated panel, an Activity view, or a Todos & reminders dashboard widget.

  1. Click Todos & reminders in the right activity bar, then Add todo. You can also use New todo in the command palette or Ctrl/Cmd+Alt+T with the default shortcut.
  2. Enter the title on the first line and details below it. The editor keeps the full multiline text.
  3. Select a project or Global · All projects. New drafts normally follow the current project; a pinned panel scope becomes the default for its new todos.
  4. Add an optional reminder, review the draft, and save.

Choose what the panel shows

The scope filter lets you keep a useful list open while moving through code.

  1. Choose current project plus global, current project only, all projects plus global, or one specific project in the searchable filter.
  2. The current-project scope follows project navigation. A specific project remains pinned when you switch projects.
  3. Right-click the filter to Set as default or Clear default. The selected scope persists across panel switches and app restarts.
  4. Use the refresh button to retry a failed load. The panel also refreshes every 30 seconds while Flame is focused.

Set a reminder

Reminders use your local time and are delivered by the desktop IDE.

  1. In Add or Edit, choose a reminder time. Use the common times or edit the hour and minute.
  2. Use Change date for the calendar, or Today, Tomorrow, and Next week shortcuts.
  3. Save the todo. While Flame is running, a due reminder creates a persistent in-app toast and a notification. Overdue reminders are delivered when Flame reopens.
  4. Complete the todo to suppress its pending reminder.

Dictate and refine the draft

Voice entry inserts editable text into the todo editor.

  1. Click the microphone in the todo input and dictate. Click again or pause for three seconds to finish.
  2. Review the recognized text before saving. Escape cancels recording; closing the editor releases the microphone.
  3. Use the optional Improve writing action to refine your wording, then review the result.

Start a todo with AI

Give an agent the full task without rebuilding its context by hand.

  1. Choose Do with AI on a todo. At narrow widths, find it in the card's three-dot actions menu.
  2. Flame prepares a fresh chat in the todo's project, or at the projects root for a global todo.
  3. Review the title and complete description in the chat card, add any relevant files, and send when ready.

Complete, clear, and undo

Keep the list short without losing text you still need.

  1. Select a title to expand or collapse the description. Use Copy todo to copy both the title and all details, including when collapsed.
  2. Mark an item complete with its checkbox. Clear completed removes completed items only within the current scope.
  3. Use Undo delete to restore the latest successful deletion, including a Clear completed batch, with its original project and reminder history.
