Jira integration

Go from Jira issue to working code

Jira remains the work tracker. Flame keeps the ticket, implementation environment, agent handoff, isolated branch, test results, review, and landing decision in one connected workflow.

The developer problem

Copying a Jira ticket into an agent prompt leaves out the workflow around it.

Requirements, comments, attachments, acceptance criteria, and status are part of the task, not background material. Moving them manually between Jira, an editor, a branch name, and an AI prompt creates omissions and repetitive setup.

Flame’s Jira integration brings assigned work into the Tasks panel, where you can inspect the issue, launch an AI task with issue context, create a sanitized branch and optional worktree, review the result, and transition status from the workspace.

A connected workflow

Jira ticket to tested implementation

The tool remains the system you know. Flame provides the local workspace where the work moves forward.

  1. 01

    Inspect the Jira issue

Browse assigned work, filter by status, sprint, and priority, and open issue details without breaking away from the codebase.

  2. 02

    Hand off or implement

Launch an AI task with the issue summary, description, comments, acceptance criteria, and attachments as context, or work manually from the same task.

  3. 03

    Use a branch per ticket

Flame creates a sanitized branch name such as fix/PROJ-123-ticket-summary and can create an isolated Git worktree.

  4. 04

    Verify against the original work

Run tests, inspect the diff, transition Jira status, and choose whether to open a pull request, merge, squash, or push.

How it works in Flame

The Jira-to-code path in Flame

01

Keep requirements visible while coding

The Tasks panel can show assigned Jira items, board filters, comments, and workflow status in the IDE rather than leaving the ticket in a separate browser tab.

02

Issue context for an agent task

A one-click agent handoff preloads the ticket summary, description, comments, acceptance criteria, and attachments, reducing the manual prompt reconstruction that often loses useful context.

03

A worktree for every independent ticket

An isolated worktree keeps agent implementation from modifying your active checkout, making parallel Jira tasks more manageable.

04

Track progress and review against the request

Follow the agent task in Flame, use test and Git review surfaces, then transition the Jira item and select an explicit landing action.
