GitHub Copilot integration

Bring your Copilot account to the code and evidence in Flame.

Use GitHub Copilot in AI Chat while working across Flame projects. Choose the files and runtime evidence for a conversation, inspect the suggested change, and verify it with your normal tools.

The developer problem

A failed test needs its code, inputs, and output together.

A pasted error message may omit the implementation and the setup that produced it. Attach the relevant files, diff, and test output so the conversation begins with evidence.

Flame keeps the chat beside the source and verification tools. Copilot provides the configured model access, while Flame preserves the conversation's project and permission context.

Try it on a real task

What GitHub Copilot enables in Flame

Connect

Add GitHub Copilot in AI settings and sign in with an account that has the required Copilot access.

Example task

Attach a failing form-validation test and its implementation, then ask Copilot to explain the regression and propose a focused repair.

Inspect the result

Read the tool activity and diff, rerun the test, and inspect recorded native worker reports when the runtime supports them.

What to expect

Copilot model access is separate from GitHub Issues and Actions connections. Native worker observation does not provide Claude Auto mode or direct child controls.

A connected workflow

From a failing test to a checked change with Copilot

  1. 01

    Connect the account

Add GitHub Copilot in AI settings and sign in with an account that has the required Copilot access.

  2. 02

    Prepare the evidence

Choose the project and attach the failing test, relevant source, and current output.

  3. 03

    Inspect the proposed work

Read the explanation and visible tool activity. Respond to permission or question cards in the task context.

  4. 04

    Check the outcome

Run the relevant tests, inspect the diff, and keep or revise the change according to the observed behavior.

How it works in Flame

Copilot conversations inside your development workspace

01

Context from the active task

Stage selected files, changes, terminal output, tests, and browser evidence in the same chat where you describe the expected behavior.

02

Visible worker reports where supported

Supported native Copilot runtimes can expose recorded child assignments, activity, failures, and reports in Flame's shared agent inspector. Observation can be partial.

03

Provider-specific capabilities

Copilot worker observation does not enable Claude's Auto/Single policy or direct child stop, retry, and follow-up controls. Use the controls exposed by the configured runtime.

04

Keep the verification loop nearby

Open the actual diff and test output before accepting the result. A generated explanation or a completed conversation is not a passing test.
